I just uploaded a few photos from two newborn sessions I recently completed. You can check them out in the Newborns gallery. I think they came out great but I am a little biased because the subjects are are my niece and newborn son. Both were born this year but have grown so much since their photo shoots. I have only done a few newborn photo sessions but I enjoy them. Some photographers are great at setting up poses and created scenes, I like catching them making cute and silly faces.

This is a good example of why I like the more candid style of newborn photos. It looks like he is showing off his muscles but he is actually about to cry. I took the picture right as his faced scrunched up. He was a champ, calmed right down and we went back to work. I'll have to show this to him when he is older so he can reenact it for us. I'm sure he’ll thank me.

My niece was a different story. She was wide awake through the whole experience. A perfect little angel, that is until she pee'd all over her daddy, oh well. If I have learned anything about newborn photography it is from this little one. Always keep a towel ready. They may be little but they hold onto a lot in those little bladders.

Another thing I will remember, it's all about the accessories. Her mommy loved putting her in cute little hats and she loved wearing them. Babies are perfectly fine and cute on their own but if you add a bow, a scarf, blanket or baseball cap, it can really take your photos to the next level.

Thanks!
